VII. THE GEOGRAPHY OF DRAGON'S GATE

Overview ...

The explored world (known as the world of Aradath) is spread along the floor of what appears to be a giant crater, which is somewhat elongated to the north and south. At the crater's lowest point is a lake spanning many square kilometers in a roughly crescent-shape. Several plateaus of land rise up at intervals throughout the crater, and there are several large islands in the lake that are habitable. Due to the difficulty some races have in getting along with others, some have chosen to live on the plateaus and islands to keep distance between them.

Spur

  • The greatest city in the known civilized world is the Spur. It resides on a large central continent (called the continent of Aradath) in the Crescent Lake. There are larger cities than the Spur, but none so often visited. The Spur is so named because the other continents and islands surrounding it are as the spokes and rim of a wheel, with the Spur at the center.

    Rathan

  • Founded in the year 237 by the revolutionist, Rathanus Stalberdin, the city of Rathan is world famous for its impenetrable defenses and vast silver and moonsilver. Built into the mountainside of the Silver Mountains in the Great Divide, Rathan stands guard to the pass through the Divide and provides a shining example for the rest of the world of how harmony can be achieved within a city of many religions and races.

    Emjedah

  • Emjedah is a coastal city to the northeast of Treehaven and southeast from Rathan. The city was first settled by travelers looking for new adventures and possibly any riches to be found.
